New Zealand’s diverse landscape plays a pivotal role in shaping MARYSE skincare. "I try to incorporate as many native extracts and local ingredients into our formulations," says Maryse. From the nutrient-rich seaweed found in the Ultra-Marine Replenishing Mask to the wild-harvested manuka leaf and exclusive botanical extracts from Little River, the brand’s commitment to celebrating New Zealand’s natural bounty is evident in every product. This connection to nature allows for ingredients that are both potent and sustainable.

As a trained facialist, Maryse brings an intimate understanding of skin health to her formulations. "I’ve always been committed to creating a collection that integrates natural elements with modern actives to optimise skin health," she notes. Unlike many larger brands, the majority of MARYSE's production takes place in-house. This includes everything from research and development to photoshoots, all happening within a purpose-built studio in Auckland.

"I prefer the more thoughtful approach of small production beauty, which allows me to consider each step in the process and prioritise potency." This artisanal attention to detail ensures that each product is carefully crafted, delivering superior results without compromising on the brand’s commitment to purity.

Maryse draws inspiration from a growing movement in beauty that celebrates natural skin. "I am inspired by the shift in beauty toward a focus on skincare that enhances natural complexions rather than relying heavily on makeup," she says.
